- Annual Reunion

Encouragement makes human beings more efficient and developed. An annual fellowship is organized to give scope to the latent qualities of the students. Meritorious students in academic, arts, sports competitions are felicitated in the meet. On this occasion, an issue of “Sharadasmriti” is published.

A two-play drama is presented in the Snehasammelan by the Art Department. Through Sharadasmriti dignitaries, donors, well-wishers of the department provide financial support to the Mandal through advertisements.

Reading Room –

"Abhyasika" i.e. Reading Room is the most important activity of Vidyarthi Utkarsh Mandal. The students of Girangaon, who live with their families in a 10 by 10 room, cannot even imagine what would have happened to their future if Mandal had not come into their lives.

Mandal study rooms are not just places for quiet study, these are workshops for volunteers making. Through various activities such as reading, thinking, thought provoking debates, event organizing skill, etc., a student achieve holistic personality development for his future course.

Thousands of Mandal members today who are shining in various fields undoubtedly attribute their success to these AbhaysiKa. In the beginning, Abhyasikas which were available in all the five departments are now available in two departments due to the changing policies of the Municipal Corporation.

But looking at the crowd of students in these two Reading Rooms, the importance of Abhyasika is highlighted even today. Abhyasika is said to be the gangotri to get workers for the Mandal. Due to this, the Mandal is making tireless efforts to start Reading Rooms in all the five areas. There is no doubt that the mission of the Mandal which strives to ensure that the students get their rightful place of study will surely be fulfilled

Academic Reference Library –

Self-study students always need reference books, however, reference books for some professional courses are quite expensive.  At such a time, help the needy students, Vidyarthi Utkarsh Mandal started the Educational Reference Library in 1990.

Reference books for various courses like Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Management are available in this library and the books required for preparation of competitive examinations of various government institutions like MPSC-UPSC, Banking, JEE-NEET, GATE, are also made available in the library. 

Besides, text book sets for Class XI  XIII are also made avalilable to the needy students for academic year free of cost.

Computer Academy

In this age of information and technology, computer literacy has become the need of the hour. To make every citizen computer literate, the Mandal has made computer training center operational and offer verious courses at very reasonable fees.

Academic Competition –

Education is the development of latent qualities in every human being.  The process of various activities of Vidyarthi Utkarsh Mandal is intertwined around this Swami Vivekananda education model. Vidyarthi Utkarsh Mandal has been trying to achieve holistic development of students through this process for the last few decades.

Keeping in mind, various competitions, viz, prayer recitation competition,  Marathi handwriting competition, painting competition, Open State level essay competitions as well as Vakrutva competition are conducted every year. On the occasion of the annual Snehasamela, the successful students are felicitated.

Educational camp

An annual camp is organized at a scenic location at outskirt of Mumbai to inculcate good morals among the students. One may enjoy in the camp but with discipline.  Various programs such as art, sports, knowledge or entertainment are organized in the camp.  All new and old members participate in the camp. Divisional tours are also organized during monsoon for inculcating team spirit.

Hobby Class –

The urgency of today is to empower students to live as human beings in the society by imparting proper education that develops independent personality. The ability to create sounds, replicas, images, movements, tools or objects comes from expressive learning.  Hence, holly classes for the students of class 2nd  to 7th  arranged in every summer vacation.  Hobby classes include dance, drama camp, yoga, tree planting, field trips, public speaking, music, science behind magic, handicrafts, painting, pottery and parent-child counseling.

Career Guidance –

In today's competitive and fast-changing era, "career choice" has become a kay-word for students.  Not only students, but parents have also become extremely conscious about the future of their children. For many years, the Mandal has been organizing Career Guidance programs free of cost.  The programme inter-alia includes, What next after 10th-12th?, Preparation for Central and State Public Service Commission exams, interaction with experts in various fields, aptitude test measurement, service opportunity in Indian Army, English conversation classes, bio-data writing, etc. Huge response across the Mumbai received to Mandal’s Career Guidance Programme.

Modi script training classes

Modi script, which dominated Maharashtra and the whole of India for about 750 years from the Jadhav era in the twelfth century, the Shiva period, the Peshwa period and the Agla period, after the independence, became obsolete has gone into limbo forever.

In fact, Modi Script is a window to look into history. Millions of historical documents and documents await trained readers. If you want to decipher and understand the affairs of the society and cultural heritage of this historical script, there is no option but to learn the script.

Keeping in mind the need and importance of training, promotion and dissemination of Modi script out of the sense of this social commitment, Modi script training classes were started from 23rd February 2014 in the diamond jubilee years of the Mandal from 23rd February 2014. Advanced, Practice Demonstration, Transliteration Proficiency classes were also introduced for the students to acquire complete knowledge of Modi script.

In 2016 and 2019 respectively, “Modi Lipi Snehasamelan” was organized with the aim of promoting the Modi script, both the Snehasamelans received good response from Modi script lovers. Online training classes were also conducted during the 'Corona' period.
