Vivekananda Lecture Series
The “Vivekananda Vyakhyanmala” i.e. lecture series conducted by the Organisation solely for the cause of social enlightenment, for the last 58 years. Various dignitaries such as intellectuals, politicians, scientists, artists, writers, poets, educationists have delivered scholarly, critical and enlightening lectures on various topics. The list of such dignitaries is placed below.
An advertisement issue titled “Vivekananda Smriti” is published on the occasion of the Vyakhyanmala. This issue includes articles by various dignitaries, introductions of social personalities and advertisements of reputed organizations, etc..
Samarth Library -
Guru is not only in human form, it is also exist in the form of newspapers, stories, novels, poems, spiritual texts. That is why libraries are considered as public universities of self-learning. Vidyarthi Utkarsh Mandal started Samarth Library during the year 1955/56 keeping this self-education in mind. Today, Samarth Library having more than 14 thousand quality reading books. Our Samarth library, which falls under “Other B” category, Classified by the Maharashtra Government, had also won the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Award for Best Urban Library of the Government of Maharashtra in 2004 and 2018. Samarth Library is doing a great job of sustaining the culture of reading by implementing activities like Lifetime Member Scheme, Children's Reader Section, Senior Citizen Member Scheme in the library.
First Aid Center –
For the emergency medical care of Ganesh devotees who participate in large numbers of public Ganesha immersion processions, a free primary medical service room (first aid center) is set up at Gulabrao Ganacharya Marg (Arthur Road Naka) from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm duly equipped with first aid medicines, doctors, nurses and volunteers. Medicines for common ailments, bandages, antibiotics, pain relievers, ointments, etc. are available in the first aid center. This platform is also being used for publicity of upcoming Vivekananda lecture series, a social awareness initiative. Ex-members, senior workers across the organization are giving their services at First Aid Center.
Mandal Gratitude Fund –
It can be called Mandal Nidhi meaning Gratitude Fund or Dedication Fund. With the aim of inculcating the culture of charity in the school life, the Mandal started the Mandal Nidhi initiative. One used to study in a reading room for one rupee for a year, use the Mandal’s activities and various programs to develop his personality. The debt of those rites cannot be repaid but the intention behind it is to give financial support while expressing gratitude towards it. It is expected that student may donate their pocket money for the social cause and learn the culture of giving.
